How SycaMore works
Three minutes, and only the parts that are not obvious from the screens themselves.
If you run events
Create an eventTen fields, one screen. You can do it thirty seconds before it starts. Publishing produces a QR code and a six-character code.
Check people inThey scan the code, or you add them by name. It keeps working with no signal — queued check-ins sync with the time the person actually arrived.
Close and attestHours arrive already computed from the timestamps. Confirm, fix roles, mark no-shows. This is the act that makes the hours count toward anything.
Fix a mistake afterwardsYou record a correction. It is appended and shown beside the original, permanently. Attested rows are never edited — the database refuses.
If you volunteer
Your hoursYou never type one. They come from your check-in and check-out, rounded to the quarter hour, and only count once the organization confirms them.
Sharing your recordYou generate the link, not the organization. It covers one organization and the whole period you served there.
If you are under 18You can serve, check in and see everything you have done. Sharing the record outside SycaMore needs a guardian to confirm by email first.
If someone sent you a link
What it isA record issued by the organization that ran the events, not by SycaMore and not by the volunteer.
What it does not saySycaMore recorded the hours. It did not watch the work. It verifies who the organization is, not what happened.
If it looks wrongEvery record carries the organization’s phone number. Call them — they are the party with first-hand knowledge.
Nothing here sends email, text messages or notifications to a real person. Every message the product would send is written to an outbox you can read.
